To provide an inexpensive closure for pulling down a drop optical cable which can improve the working efficiency of a method for clamping and fixing the drop optical cable by simplifying the structure of a clamping structure.

The closure for pulling down the drop optical cable includes the clamping section for the drop optical cable which has a groove of a U shape in cross section for housing the optical cable section of the drop optical cable and clamping and fixing the same. Opposite projections are formed on the inside surface of the groove. The projections are continuous in a depth direction and are formed intermittently spaced prescribed intervals in a longitudinal direction. The clamping section is so formed that the optical cable section is clamped and fixed into the groove by penetrating the projections into the sheath of the optical cable section.
