Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cloth-like composite reinforcing member intended to improve its wearing feel, beautiful appearance and designability while making its shape retentivity favorable by making the best use of the mechanical properties of shape memory alloy.
CONSTITUTION: The reinforcing member can be obtained by integrally bonding to a pair of cloths 2, in a sandwiched manner, a wire 1 which has been prepared by putting (A) Ni-Ti-, Ti-, Cu- or iron-based shape memory alloy singly or (B) its combination with at least one kind selected from stainless steel, metallic titanium, titanium alloys, metallic aluminum, aluminum allays and amorphous alloys to shape memory heat treatment to a desired shape.
