Abstract:
To manufacture an optical compensation film nearly free from fluctuation in optical characteristics and nearly free from bright spot generation frequency even if the film is made long-sized since alignment uniformity in rubbing processing can be maintained for a long time.
In a cloth material 1 for rubbing for subjecting a resin layer 8 for forming an alignment layer to rubbing processing to form the alignment layer including a ground cloth structure constituted of a warp 2 and a weft 3 and a pile fiber 4 woven in the ground cloth structure, the pile fiber 4 is formed by coating a surface of a filament 6a with a resin coating material 7.
