The clothes dryer comprises a rotation shaft 2 connected to a frame 1 in the vertical posture, a hanger part 3 connected to the rotation shaft 2 for connecting the laundry, and the blower 4 disposed above the hanger part 3 for forcibly blowing air for drying downward. Blades 5, rotated with the wind forcibly blown from the blower 4, are connected directly or via a reduction gear 17 to the rotation shaft 2. The blades 5 are disposed under the blower 4 and above the laundry. In the clothes dryer, the rotation shaft 2 is rotated by the blades 5, and the hanger part 3 is rotated by the rotation shaft 2. The laundry is dried with the wind passing through the blades 5 while the laundry connected to the hanger part 3 is rotated within a horizontal plane.
