To provide a clothes dryer capable of preventing whirling up of cooling water even if a lot of hot air is supplied into a tank and efficiently performing a drying operation.
A drying unit 19 includes a ventilation passage 20 for guiding the air coming out of a water tank 6 to return to the water tank 6, a dehumidification part 21 for dehumidifying the air flowing through the ventilation passage 20 by cooling it by cooling water, an air blowing part 22 for sending the air dehumidified in the dehumidification part 21 into the water tank 6, a bypass passage 24 for guiding the air coming out of the water tank 6 to the downstream side of the dehumidification part 21 and the upstream side of the air blowing part 22, and a heating part for heating the air dehumidified by the dehumidification part 21 and the air from the bypass passage 24. By this, since the air flowing through the bypass passage 24 reaches the downstream side of the dehumidification part 21 and the upstream side of the air blowing part 22 even if the amount of air sent to the dehumidification part 21 is lessened, the air volume of the air blowing part 22 can be raised.
