To provide a clothes dryer configured to suppress reduction in air flow rate without scattering a foreign matter such as lint caught by a filter in a rotary drum or circulation air flow path, and maintaining drying efficiency.
The clothes dryer includes a filter case 13 connected to the circulation air flow path 8, a first and second filters 14a and 14b provided in the filter case 13, first air flow path 15 for passing drying air therethrough to catch the lint on the first filter 14a, a second air flow path 16 sending the drying air along a lint catching surface of the first filter 14a and separating the lint caught on the first filter 14a, and an air flow path switching unit 17 for switching the first air flow path 15 and the second air flow path from each other. A control unit 25 is configured to send air to the second air flow path 16 by the air flow path switching unit 17, when an air flow rate detecting unit 26 detects a predetermined reduction in air flow rate of the drying air.
