PURPOSE: To reduce friction between a pressure plate and a flywheel and accurately locate the pressure plate on a center axis by providing a plurality of grooves extending in the axial direction at a given space on the outer periphery of a first pressure plate, providing grooves facing to these grooves in the flywheel and arranging spherical elements in sectionally circular passages formed by both grooves.
CONSTITUTION: Three grooves 12 extending in the axial direction are provided in the outer periphery surface of a pressure plate 6. The respective grooves 12 are provided at uniform spaces in a recess 13 in the pressure plate 6. A flange 8 is connected to a flywheel 1, a protrusion complemental to the recess 13 is provided on a stationary pressure plate 7 and grooves 15 facing to the grooves 12 are formed. In each of passages formed by respective pairs of grooves 12, 15 a spherical element 16 is arranged. Then, the spherical elements 16 can be rolled between the grooves 12, 15 on a low frictional basis so that great torque can be transmitted. Further, such the pressure plate 6 is pivotally supported to be accurately kept on a center axis.
