Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in contact pressing force by using a diaphragm spring as a load generating member to check an influence of centrifugal force during high speed rotation. CONSTITUTION:When a diaphragm spring 42 is set in its initial state as indicated by a solid line, the spring force P of the diaphragm spring 42 presses a pressure contact portion 34 of a retainer 32 forward. This spring force P is transmitted from the inner peripheral supporting point 62 of an annular groove 36 to a lever 60, and force magnification at a lever ratio of L1:L2 to be transmitted as a pressure contact force of clutch discs 12, 16 from the middle supporting point 66 to a pressure plate 18a. In such a condition, the disphragm spring 42 is disposed in a substantially flat posture. Therefore, even in case of high speed rotation, there is little influence of centrifugal force upon the disphragm spring 42, so that there is no possibility of an decrease in pressure contact force to the clutch discs 12, 16 due to centrifugal force.
