Title:
COATED CEMENTED CARBIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1017978
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a tool improved in plastic deformation resistance while maintaining breaking resistance by limiting the content of Zr or Hf contained in the base material of coated cemented carbide and also dispersing the Zr or Hf in B-1 solid solution or binding phase.

The coated cemented carbide for tool is obtained by coating the surface of the base material of cemented carbide with hard film. In this coated cemented carbide, the amount of Zr and/or Hf, contained in the base material, is regulated so that it is 1-15% by weight, preferably 3-5% or 5-10%, based on the amount of iron group metals, such as Co and Ni, contained in the base material. Further, these Zr and Hf are dispersed in B-1 type solid solution and/or binding phase. At this time, it is preferable to provide a region where B-1 solid solution phases are dissipated or decreased, ranging from the surface of the cemented carbide to a position at a depth of 5-25μm from the surface.
