Abstract:

To provide a coated optical fiber ribbon that is hardly deformed even if exposed under high temperature for long hours.

In the coated plastic optical fiber ribbon, plastic optical fibers and tension bodies are arranged in parallel and coated altogether with an overall coating layer. The coated plastic optical fiber ribbon is characterized in that, where NT is the number of tension bodies, RT is the radius of the tension bodies, np is the number of plastic optical fibers, and rp is the radius of the plastic optical fibers, it satisfies a relation of (NT×RT)/(np×rp)≥0.25 and that, where TR is the total of the diameters of the tension bodies and tr is the total of the diameters of the plastic optical fibers, it also satisfies a relation of TR/tr≥0.25.
