PURPOSE: To allow efficient scavenging and to surely prevent the splashing back of mists to operators by setting the air flow in a coating booth in such a manner that the flow velocity of the air for scavenging increases to the product where the splashing back of the sprays to the operator side is anticipated.
CONSTITUTION: The air flow rates from respective supply chambers 4 to 8 are regulated by respective flow rate regulating valves 4a to 8a and, therefore, the air flow of the flow velocity proportional to the respective flow rates is fed from the respective supply chambers 4 to 8 to the painting booth 1 and flows toward a suction unit 2. An air release port 9b of an auxiliary chamber 9 is placed along an upper inside wall 1b and an air flow layer is produced on the wall surface by which the sprayed paint is hardly stuck to the upper inside wall 1b and the lowering of the flow velocity and turbulence by the frictional resistance of the wall are prevented. The scavening optimum for the size and shape of the product is executed and the splashing back of the mists to the operator A is prevented by making the air flow is the coating booth 1 non-uniform in this way.
