To provide a coating composition for controlling termites, capable of effectively retaining a termite-controlling effect over a long period and performing reduction and improvement of load of housing environment.

An essential oil component extracted from Cryptomeria japonica D. Don or Eucalyptus globules is used as a natural anti-termite agent, and the component is absorbed into a powdery bamboo coal and is encapsulated and mixed into a water-based resin emulsion. At a same time, humidity control of the termite-controlling environment is carried out and removal of harmful substances released from a building material, etc., is carried out by the powdery bamboo coal. Figure 2 represents the result of a moisture absorption test of the coating composition for controlling the termites as an example representing a humidity control effect of the coating composition for controlling the termites. In the Fig. 2, the symbol A represents data obtained by using the coating composition and the symbol B represents data obtained by using a steel plate to which the coating composition for controlling the termites is not applied.
