PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition having improved optical properties such as whiteness, opacity, ink receiving properties or blister resistance and printing characteristics, containing pigment, aqueous binder, water-soluble acetic ester and cationic resin.

CONSTITUTION: The aimed composition containing (A) pigment (e.g., kaolin or talc), (B) an aqueous binder (e.g., oxidized starch or PVA), (C) a water-soluble acetic ester (e.g., monoacetin or ethylene glycol diacetate) and (D) a cationic resin (e.g., polyamide polyamine-based resin) in the ratio of preferably 5-50 pts.wt. component B, 0.05-1 pt.wt. component C and 0.1-1 pt.wt. component D based on 100 pts.wt. component A.
