To provide a coating composition that comprises a polysiloxane-containing aqueous acrylate polymer emulsion and colloidal inorganic particles with a well-balanced combination of weatherability and antifouling properties.
The coating composition comprises components (A)-(C), as given below, and is produced by simultaneously performing the hydrolysis and condensation of the component (A) and the emulsion polymerization of the component (B) in an aqueous medium, wherein the component (A) is a hydrolysis-condensation product of a specific organosilane compound in an amount of 100 pts.mass, the component (B) is an emulsion polymer prepared by subjecting a specific ethylenically unsaturated monomer to emulsion polymerization in an amount of 20-5,000 pts.mass, and the component (C) is colloidal inorganic particles in an amount of 0.1-95 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass resin solids.
