Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the composition capable of providing a coating film excellent in oil resistance, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, etc., by adding a phosphinylphosphimide compound of a specified formula as an effective component to the coating composition.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition having a phosphinylphosphimide compound of formula I (wherein R is H or CH3) as the effective component is provided. The phosphinylphosphimide ester of formula I can be produced by a general process for example by reacting hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate with penta-chlorophosphinylphosphimide in the presence of a deoxidizer in an inert nonaqueous solvent. The pentachlorophosphinylphosphimide can be produced by reacting under heating phosphorus pentachloride with ammonium sulfate in chlorobenzene as shwon in formula II. This composition can impart excellent oil resistance, impact resistance and abrasion resistance to the surface of a polycarbonate or an acryl molding to make it usable as a substitute for a window glazing of a transport plane.
