Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a metal corrosion-inhibiting coating compsn. which is neither carcinogenic nor toxic by compounding an org. film forming binder and a specified ketoacid with a cation, a specified amine compd. or the like.
CONSTITUTION: An org. film forming binder (e.g. epoxy resin or acrylic resin) and a keto-acid represented by formula I [wherein m and n are 0 to 10 with m+n>1 A represents a 1-15C alkyl (which may be interrupted by O, N, or S), a 2-15C alkenyl, a 3-12 cycloalkyl, a 6-10C aryl, a heterocyclic residue or the like; R1 to R4 represent A, H, OH, an O-1-15C alkyl, NH2, an NH-alkyl, an N-dialkyl, CO2H, a CO2-alkyl, or SO3H] are compounded with a cation or a base selected from amines represented by formula II (wherein X, Y, and Z represent H, a 1-24C alkyl which may be interrupted by one or more O, phenyl, a 7-9C phenylalkyl group, or the like), guanidines, or amidines to obtain a coating compsn. contg. a corrosion-inhibiting amt. of a substantially water- insoluble mono- or polybasic salt.
