Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition capable of forming coating films ensured in flexibility able to follow the deformation of resin substrates and simultaneously improved in yellowing resistance and staining resistance, by using a specified acrylic copolymer as a resin component.
SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by blending (A) 30-40 wt.% of a resin component preferably comprising a graft type or block type acrylic copolymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 40-60°C, a mol.wt. of 2000-60000 and a hard segment: soft segment weight ratio of 1:0.7 to 1:2.5, (B) a crosslinking agent, and, if necessary, (C) one or more additives such as a diluting solvent (including a reactive diluting solvent) or an dispersing medium, a stabilizer, an antioxidizing agent, an UV light absorbent, a viscosity-adjusting agent, etc. The component A is e.g. a resin having a hard segment comprising 90 mol.% of methyl methacrylate and 10 mol.% of styrene and a soft segment comprising 50 mol.% of methyl methacrylate and 50 mol.% of isobutyl acrylate.
