PURPOSE: To provide highly compatible titled composition suitable as primer for metallic materials, capable of giving coating film of outstanding adhesiveness, processability and corrosion resistance, comprising a combination between specific urethane-modified epoxy resin and polyhydroxypolyether resin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising (A) 50W95pts.wt. of a reaction product derived from the reaction between (i) a product from a) epoxy resin component consisting mainly of epoxy resin of formula I [R is H or CH3; A is C(CH3)2, CH2, O or S; n is 0W14] b) dicarboxylic acid and c) primary hydroxyalkyl group-contg. secondary amine and (ii) a second product from polyisocyanate compound and isocyanate-protecting agent in such a molar ratio OH in the component (i) /NCO in the component (ii) as to be 10/1W1/1, (B) 50W5pts. wt. of a polyether resin having recurring unit of formula II (R' is of formula IIIor IV; n' is 0W14) and (C) 1W30pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent.
