To provide a coating device capable of securing flowability of a coating liquid to obtain an excellent coated surface by uniformly stirring the coating liquid in the width direction to eliminate the liquid stagnation part even when a coating liquid having thixotropy which is made conventinally difficult to obtain the excellent coated surface is used and hardly causing the deterioration of coating property even in a long term coating in a reverse kiss coating system using a small diameter roll.
In the coating device for applying the coating liquid in a prescribed thickness using the small diameter reverse coating roll having a doctor blade on a travelling web, a rubber roll for supplying the coating liquid while stirring is provided to be pressed to be in contact with the reverse coating roll in the side of the reverse coating roll. The rubber roll is not driven by power and is rotated in the same direction as that of the rotation of the reverse coating roll by revolution force of the reverse coating roll pressed to be in contact with the rubber roll.
