Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a coating base paper being better in flatness and smoothness and having less inequality according to the kind of a base paper or a liquid for coating by providing two sets of short dwell coater head.
CONSTITUTION: A short dwell coater head for an under coating 10A and that for a finish coating 10B are provided, and the former 10A is moved rotatively on a backing roller 2 so that set distances L1 and L2 from the latter 10B are arbitrary, and, at the same time, the coating liquids for under and finish coatings are continuously applied on the surface of a web 3 on the backing roller 2.
