To form a coating layer of a uniform thickness by coating the surface to be coated with a coating agent.
A high-viscous coating agent S1 is applied onto inner and outer peripheral edges of an information recording layer 3 formed on the surface of a disk substrate 2 by a first discharging means 12 and cured, to form protruded parts 4a and 4b. A low-viscous coating agent S2 is applied onto a region between the protruded parts 4a and 4b, by a second discharging means 13. The coating agent S2 is applied by placing a necessary quantity on the recording layer 3. Applied droplets are leveled in a mutually overlapped state partly by leveling action without spreading treatment. The leveled surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays for curing to form the coated layer.
