PURPOSE: To enhance acid resistance and weatherability by using clear paint based on an acrylic copolymer, low mol.wt. polyol and an amino resin.
CONSTITUTION: Clear paint contains 20-85wt.% of an acrylic copolymer obtained by polymerizing monomer components consisting of 5-40wt.% of an alkoxysilnne group-containing vinyl monomer being a compd. represented by formula 1 (wherein A is a group represented by formula II or a group represented by formula III, R1 is a hydrogen atom or the like, R2 is an aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon group, R3 and R4 are a phenyl group or the like, R5 is an alkyl group and (n) is an integer of 1-100), 5-50wt.% of a hydroxy group-containing vinyl monomer and 10-90wt.% of other copolymerizable vinyl monomer, 5-30wt.% of low mol.wt. polyol having mol.wt. distribution wherein a wt. average mol.wt. is 900 below 2000 and the ratio of wt. average mol.wt./number average mol.wt. is 1.6 or less and a hydroxy value of 150-350mgKOH/g, and 10-50wt.% of an amino resin. By the use of this paint, two-coat one-bake coating finish is performed.
