To obtain a coating liquid which hardly causes changes in viscosity or deterioration in electrophotographic characteristics during storage and which can be stored for a long time by incorporating an antioxidant.
The coating liquid for formation of a charge producing layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor contains at least a charge producing material and antioxidant. As for the antioxidant, a compd. having a hindered phenol skeleton and/or triazine ring is preferably used. For example, 2,6-di-tert- butyl-4-methylphenol and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-(4,6-bis(octylthio)-1,3-triazin-2-ylamino) phenol can be used. This antioxidant is added usually by 1 to 1000 ppm to the coating liquid, preferably 5 to 100 ppm weight concn. One or more kinds of antioxidants may be added.
