To provided a coating material coating device with an enhanced workability capable of preventing a coating material from leaking downward from a coating tank and enabling reduction of work time for changing wire sizes.
This coating device 1 comprises the coating tank 3 having an inclined plate 2 provided slantly on one side face for temporarily retaining the coating material (p) to be supplied, and applies the coating material (p) on the wire w by passing and supplying the wire (w) from below the inclined plate 2 of the tank 3 upward. A slit 21 opened at its top end is formed in the plate 2, and a fixed plate 4 having a slit 41 opened at its top end is installed in parallel with the plate 2. Vertically split seal plates 5u and 5d made of a resin, or the like, and split vertically are provided between the plate 2 and the plate 4. Half split holes 51u and 51d for passing the wire (w) by sandwiching it from upper and lower sides are formed in a joint part joining the vertically split seal plates 5u and 5d with each other.
