Abstract:

To obtain a coating material for corrosion prevention of a concrete so that corrosion of a concrete equipment by aerobic bacteria which produces sulfuric acid from sulfur as a nutrient can be prevented at a low cost by a simple method without causing environmental pollution, by compounding a formic acid compd. selected from formic acid, sodium formate and calcium formate into a cement mortar.

This coating material for corrosion prevention of a concrete consists of a cement mortar and a formic acid compd. As for the formic acid compd., formic acid, sodium formate and calcium formate are preferably used. After the coating material for corrosion prevention of a concrete is compounded and prepared, the coating material is applied on the surface of a concrete structural body by a well-known method such as coating or spraying before the coating material is hardened so as to prevent corrosion of the concrete structural body. Since heavy metals are not used in the coating material for corrosion prevention of a concrete, it does not cause environmental pollution.
