Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the potential when a voltage is applied on a support, to surely suppress an electric discharge, to eliminate the fogging of a photosensitive material, to inhibit the deposition of refuse on the support to obviate defective transfer and nonuniform coating and to smoothly perform high-speed thin film coating.
SOLUTION: In the method for coating a continuously traveled long-sized strip support with a coating soln., a means for charging the support is provided on the upstream side of a coating position in the support transporting direction to charge the support, and the support with at least the face opposite to the face to be coated with the coating soln. having ≤1012 Ω.cm surface resistivity is coated. The electric-field potential at the liq. contact part formed between the support and coating soln. is controlled to 200-3000 V, and the soln. is applied.
