Abstract:

PURPOSE: To coat the surface of powder with the metal formed by decomposition of a metallic compd. by dispersing the powder into a soln. consisting of the metallic compd. dissolved in a solvent then evaporating the solvent and heating the powder to decompose the metallic compd. deposited thereon.

CONSTITUTION: Powder is dispersed into a soln. consisting of at least one kind of metallic compd. dissolved in a solvent then the solvent is gradually evaporated by a heating or evacuating method or the like to deposit preferentially the metallic compd. exceeding the saturated rate of dissolution on the powder. The powder coated thereon with the metallic compd. is taken out, is put into a heating furnace and is heated in the atmosphere and under the temp. condition to decompose said metallic compd. to metal, thereby yielding the powder coated thereon with the metal. Any metal is usable as a coating material in the above- mentioned method and an org. or inorg. compd. which is stable at the decomposition temp. of the metallic compd. is required to be used as the powder.
