To provide a coaxial cable which can improve furthermore the shield characteristics of the coaxial cable having a shield layer with a double structure of a braided shield body and a tape shield body.
The coaxial cable has a center conductor, an insulating body covering its outer circumference, and a shield layer 27 installed at its outer circumference, and the shield layer 27 has a double structure of a braided shield body 4 which is formed by braiding a plurality of metal strands 5 and a tape shield body 28 which is formed by spirally winding or covering lengthwise a conductive tape 7. A plurality of projections 11 are formed on the surface of the side where the conductive tape 7 contacts the braided body 4 in the tape shield body 28 constituting the shield layer 27, and these projections 11 come into the gap 9 between the metal strands 5 and interposed in the braided shield body 4.
