Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enlarge a geometrical distance at the viterbi decoding time in a PR.
CONSTITUTION: The state of 3×3 is arranged on a plane composed of a horizontal axis and a vertical axis. A code 11 is allotted to correspond to the transition in the right direction of the horizontal axis, and 00 is allotted to correspond to the transition in the left direction. 01 is allotted to correspond to the upward transition along the vertical axis, while 10 is allotted to correspond to the downward transition. A code obtained in the case of the transition from one state out of the state 1, the state 3, the state 5 and the state 7 as a starting point through the other state of five to the state 1, the state 3, the state 5 or the state 7 as the finishing state is used as a code after conversion. For example, by the transition of the state 1, the state 4, the state 7, the state 8, the state 7, the state 4 and the state 1, codes 01, 01, 11, 00, 10, 10 are obtained.
