Abstract:
To provide a method of manufacturing a coil component by which the thermocompression-bonded junction of a winding can be formed quickly and surely by suppressing the thermal stress applied to a wound section, and to provide a highly reliable coil component.
The choke coil 50 of the coil component has a ferrite core 29 provided with a terminal electrode 29 on its surface and the coil 33 wound around the core 25 and thermocompression-bonded to the electrode 29 by its lead-out section 55 led out to the electrode 29. The coil component has a contracted section 37 with a section S' having a reduced cross-sectional area between the wound section 54 of the coil 33 and the thermocompression-bonded joint M.
