Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil forming apparatus which can prevent U-shaped bent parts of conductor segments from protruding largely from the end face of a stator iron core and can suppress a weight increase even when six or more pieces of the conductor segments (rectilinear parts 6a and 6b) are inserted in the depth direction within the same slot, and a coil forming method.
SOLUTION: A first twist forming tool 7 arranged on the inner side of a concentric form and a second twist forming tool 8 arranged on the outer side comprise annular inner ring sections 7a and 8a, and outer ring sections 7b and 8b of an annular shape which are combined relatively rotatably, respectively. The double supersposed first and second conductor segment groups are twisted by the first twist forming tool 7 and the third conductor segment groups are twisted by the second twist forming tool. As a result, forming of the stator coil with the six conductor segments (rectilinear parts 6a and 6b) inserted in the depth direction within the same slot is made possible.
