PURPOSE: To aim at ensuring the working of cutting and feeding a coil, by removing a coil strap binding the coil without scratching the surface of the coil, and as well by feeding the coil to the next working station after modifying the leading end of the coil.
CONSTITUTION: A swing arm 31 having a strap cutting and gripping head 33 is swung clockwise around a pin 32, and therefore the head 33 is abutted against the outer periphery of a coil 13, and cuts and grips a strap. Further, the leading end of the coil 13 is clamped between a guide roller 10 and the abutting surface of the head 33, and is modified into a shape corresponding to the abutting surface. The modified leading end 15 is fed guided by the guide roller 10 to a suitable position in the next working station.
