Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect the ends of two coils together before tying by temporarily receiving a first coil by a coil transfer device, welding together this coil and a second coil on a coil transfer device so as to make these continuos and then supporting both coils by the hanger of the coil transfer device.
SOLUTION: A first coil is transferred to a specified spot 9 by a hanger 6. A coil transfer device 10 and a coil side edge truing-up device 30 are moved close to each other, and in the lower side of a horizontal beam part 8, a coil supporting body 23 is made to enter the lower side of a first coil 80. The first coil 80 is lifted by the coil supporting body 23, both devices are returned, and the first coil 80 is pulled out and supported by the coil transfer device 10. Then, a hanger 6 for supporting a second coil is transferred and stopped in the specified spot 9 and welding is performed in this condition. Then, the coil transfer device 10 is moved, the end surfaces of both coils are brought into contact with each other, both coil supporting bodies 23 and 40 are lowered, and both coils made continuous are supported by the hanger 6.
