Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent deformation of a coil caused by stacking up, etc., by determining coiling tensile force required when a steel strip is coiled by a steel belt take-up device according to thickness and width of the strip and outside diameter of a taken up coil.
CONSTITUTION: Taking the tensile force as a parameter, a graph of relations of outside diameter and resistible load of the coil is made considering deformation of the coil by collapse caused by stacking during storing and loosening of the coil caused by vibration during transportation, etc. When actual coiling tensile force is determined, the graph is used. Required resistible load of the coil is calculated, width of the coil is expressed in terms of corrected width of 1000mm from thickness and coiling tensile force is determined from resistible load and outside diameter of the coil. By determining actual coiling tensile force in such a manner, collapse of coil and inside diameter deformation of coil which often occur when a coil is stacked up or handled are eliminated.
