Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of wrinkles or flaws attributable to the coil loosening of a strip by surely coiling the strip without generating any loosening in the coil, and to stably press a strip tail end against the coil in pressing the strip tail end against the coil by a wrapper coil.
SOLUTION: In coiling a strip tail end around a mandrel 2, a strip S to be coiled around a mandrel 2 by one wrapper roll 3a on the most upstream side in the strip advancing direction D is pressed over several winds, and then, the strip tail end is coiled while successively pressing the strip tail end by other wrapper rolls 3b, 3c, 3d. The wrapper rolls 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d at the waiting position are moved to the specified position in the vicinity of the coil through the position control, and then, the pressing force is switched to be constant before the wrapper rolls are brought into contact with the coil, and the strip tail end is pressed by the wrapper rolls 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d.
