Abstract:

To provide a coin-shaped battery of which productivity is improved by preventing a metallic mold from being damaged when a pellet-shaped positive electrode is molded, and also provide its manufacturing method.

In the coin-shaped battery having a pellet-shaped positive electrode 1, a synthetic resin ring 7 sticks fast to a side wall of the pellet-shaped positive electrode 1, and the side wall of the pellet-shaped positive electrode 1 is pushed by the synthetic resin ring 7. The coin-shaped battery of the present invention is manufactured with the method including the process for making the synthetic resin ring 7 to stick to the side wall of the pellet-shaped positive electrode 1, by inserting the pellet-shaped positive electrode 1 into the synthetic resin ring 7 and thermally shrinking the synthetic resin ring 7.
