To provide a miniaturized colander apparatus for processing food allowing a user to quickly remove the moisture adhering to the surface of vegetables, which are cut, disinfected and washed with water, in a very short period of time (a few seconds) to put the vegetables on a tray, etc. and capable of being easily set in a narrow cooking space without requiring a large space.

In the colander apparatus 1, a casing 2 is divided into a draining chamber 4 and a driving chamber 5 via a partition board 3, a draining basket 10 opening to an opening/closing lid 8 is disposed in the draining chamber 4 and connected to a propel shaft 12 of a high-speed driving machine 11 to be suddenly braked and set inside the driving chamber, via a shaft rod 14 piercing the partition board 3, a starting/stopping switch 19 of the high-speed driving machine is disposed in an appropriate position of the casing 2, and a flow-out pipe 23 of water reserved in the draining chamber 4. The moisture on the surface of vegetables can be removed in a short period of time (a few seconds) by rotating the draining basket 10 at high speed, and the draining basket can be suddenly stopped after the moisture removal.
