To provide a compact cold air generator capable of generating cold air at -10°C or lower.
The cold air generator for cooling compressed gas comprises a pressure detecting means 2 for detecting the inlet pressure of the compressed gas, a dehumidifier 3 for removing water from the compressed gas by a desiccant and a pressure reducing valve 5 for adjusting the pressure and flow rate of the compressed gas passing through the dehumidifier. The compressed gas passing through the pressure reducing valve is cooled to predetermined temperature or lower by a compressed gas cooler 14. The compressed gas cooler includes a compressor 7 for compressing refrigerant gas, a condenser 9 for condensing the compressed refrigerant gas and a heat exchanger 8 for carrying out a heat exchange between the refrigerant condensed by the condenser and the compressed gas.
