Abstract:

To provide a cold heat storage type refrigerator and its operating method capable of performing the most efficient operation.

This cold heat storage type refrigerator is comprised of a cold head 2 of a multi-stage expansion type freezer and a compressor 41 connected to the cold head, wherein its operation is carried out with a non-loaded time reaching temperature of a final cooling stage 17 being set to be lower than 5K. In the case that an operating frequency of the cold head 2 of the freezer is defined as f[Hz], a total expansion volume totalling expansion volumes totalling an expansion volume of each of the stages is defined as V[cm3] and a compressor input electrical power is defined as W[W], there are provided the cold head of the refrigerator and the compressor satisfying a condition of 20≤W/(V.f)≤40.
