PURPOSE: To effectually separate gaseous hydrate adhering to tube surfaces in a cold storage device utilizing latent heat of the hydrate upon production and decomposition of the same by connecting cooling/heating medium pipings to the tubes of a cold storage tank heat exchanger alternately for one or a plurality of rows and stages of the tubes.
CONSTITUTION: Upon cold storage operation, a stirrer 21 is rotated, and a cooling medium, say, a gas/liquid two-phase refrigerant flowing out from a drawing of a refrigerator is circulated in tubes 23b, 23c. Produced heat thereupon is also transmitted to fins 24 and the tube 23a. Hereby, a hydration agent 2 and water 3 are effectually cooled and gaseous hydrate 16 is produced and allowed to adhere to the surfaces of the tubes 23a through 323c and the fins 24. Upon cold discharge operation, a heating medium, say, water raised in temperature with an air conditioner is circulated to the tube 23a and heat thereof is transmitted to the fins 24, tubes 23b, 23c. Thus, the whole gaseous hydrate 16 adhering to the surfaces of the fins 24 and tubes 23a through 23c is effectually decomposed.
