To provide a cold storage type air cooling device simple in structure and free of trouble in use.
Cold generated by a Sterling refrigerator 6, which is independent of a refrigerator such as of an air conditioner already installed in an automobile, is moved, through a heat sink 5 which is a heat exchanger, into a cold storage refrigerant F stored in a cold storage vessel 3 having heat insulating property. After this cold storage refrigerant F is cooled and stored, an airstream is formed by a fan 9, being sucked from an intake port 10 and exhausted from an exhaust port 11 through an air flow passage 4. The cold accumulated in the cold storage refrigerant F is transmitted to the airstream through the heat sink 5, this airstream being thereby cooled and used for air cooling. The cold is thus stored in the cold storage refrigerant F at an appropriate time of the cold storage by the Sterling refrigerator 6, enabling air cooling using the cold accumulated in the cold storage refrigerant F with the engine of the automobile stopped.
