Abstract:
To provide cold tandem rolling equipment and a cold tandem rolling method in which plate rupture occurrence is predicted at a stage before the plate rupture occurrence in implementing cold tandem rolling on a coil with a large unevenness in deformation resistance distribution, like a self-annealing coil, and in which an emergency stop of the rolling can be made, in order to minimize degradation in productivity accompanying a plate rupture emergency stop.SOLUTION: In the cold tandem rolling equipment, a breakage part detector is disposed for detecting generation of broken parts not yet ruptured on a strip to be rolled, at least on an outlet side of a first rolling mill stand among multiple rolling mill stands, and an emergency stop device is provided for emergency stopping of the rolling based on a detection result from the breakage part detector. Further, in a cold tandem rolling method, the emergency stop device is operated to stop the rolling when a broken part is detected by the breakage part detector, in implementing cold rolling on a strip using the cold tandem rolling equipment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
