Title:
COLD WORKING TOOL STEEL HAVING EXCELLENT MACHINABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002003988
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide cold working tool steel having high machinability and capable of exhibiting excellent tool performance by means of quench-and-temper treatment.

The steel has a composition containing, by mass, 0.5-2.0% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 3-15% Cr and further one or more kinds among ≤5% Mo, ≤4% W, ≤3% V and ≤3% Nb, and the average grain size of fine carbides having a size of ≤5 μm among the carbides constituting this steel is regulated to 1.0-2.0 μm. In addition to the above chemical components, ≤3% Ni, ≤5% Co, and one or more elements among S, Te, Ca, Pb, Se, Zr and Bi can be incorporated.
