To provide a collagen powder and the like that are excellent in thermal stability and dissolve in a pH range of 5.5-8.5.
The collagen powder and/or collagen derivative powder is formed by drying a course collagen precipitate containing 12-50 mass% of collagen and/or a collagen derivative having an isoelectric point of pH 3.5-8.0 and an average particle diameter of 1-1,000 μm, wherein 5 mg of the powder is characterized by having an initial dissolving rate of 0.2 mg/minute or higher to a solution of a pH of 6.5. The collagen powder and/or collagen derivative powder may be carried by a substrate to form a collagen-carrying article. The powder can be preserved without being refrigerated and has so excellent solubility to a neutral solution as to easily prepare a triple helix collagen solution.
