PURPOSE: To collect a bit of failure information generated in each device at high speed by a console processor, by saving the contents of a local storage within each device, in a main memory device, by a specific save command.

CONSTITUTION: A specific microprogram in a control memory 12 within a channel control device 1 is started up by a specific save command issued from a console processor 2. Then, the content of a local storage 11 is evacuated in the area 32 of a main memory device 3 through a data bus. At a time when the above evacuation is completed, a readout instruction from the main memory device 3 to a micro disk 21 is issued from the console processor 2. In this way, it is possible to accommodate the contents of an input/output control information area 31, and a saving area 32 in the micro disk at high speed.
