Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colloidal solution useful as a colorant having high chroma and excellent pigmentation and not agglomerating when added to a paint or a resin, by incorporating a colloidal particle of a noble metal or copper and a high molecular weight pigment dispersant.
SOLUTION: A colloidal solution is obtained by incorporating a colloidal particle of one or more noble metal of, preferably gold, silver and platinum, or of copper, and a high molecular weight pigment dispersant, preferably, a macromolecule of a comb structure having pigment affinity groups in the main chain and/or a plurality of the side chains and having a plurality of the side chains constituting a solvent affinity portion, a macromolecule having a plurality of pigment affinity portions comprising pigment affinity groups in the main chain, or a straight-chain macromolecule having a pigment affinity portion comprising a pigment affinity group at one end of the main chain. The colloidal solution is obtained by dissolving a compound of a noble metal or copper (e.g. an acid of gold chloride) into a solvent, preferably water and/or an organic solvent, to add a high molecular weight pigment dispersant thereto, and thereafter adding, preferably an amine (e.g. alkanolamine), to the noble metal or copper to be reduced.
