A reference table 34 is created from color charts 100 outputted from a color proof output apparatus 4, a color densitometer 7 measures a color chart F outputted from a printer 6 to obtain a plurality of kinds of RGB densities and visual densities, a color table creating section 32 converts the densities into an L*a*b* value to create a color table 33. A color channel creating section 35 creates a color channel table 36 from the color table 33 and the reference table 34. The color proof output apparatus 4 outputs an output object on the basis of the color channel table 36. The color densitometer 7 measures a plurality of kinds of the RGB densities and visual densities of the output objects, rewrites and corrects the color table 33 on the basis of the measurement, creates a new color channel table 36 and gives it to the color proof output apparatus 4, which outputs a color proof.
