Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make screen angles of irrational tangent or mesh point pitches of a screen of different colors equal.
SOLUTION: In image processing which expresses gradation by mesh points composed of a dot image in a plurality of picture elements, an image regenerating engine is used which forms a dot image in a pixel region, by sticking toner on a virtual dot region of a prescribed area existing in a prescribed position, according to image regenerating data. The position of the center of gravity of the mesh points, formed by a single-dot image or a plurality of adjacent dot images, is shifted from the center of a pixel region to an arbitrary position, thereby realizing desired screen angle or desired halftone dot pitch. As the result, the screen angles of irrational tangent can be realized, and all the mesh point pitches in the screen of a plurality of colors can be made equal also.
