To provide a coloring composition which has superior robustness (heat resistance, solvent resistance), provides superior color characteristics (brightness) when used for color filters, generates no foreign matter and offers good stability, and to provide a color filter produced using the same.SOLUTION: The above challenge is cleared by a color filter coloring composition comprising a colorant (A), a binder resin, and an organic solvent, the colorant (A) comprising a specific salt-forming compound containing a triphenylmethane-based acidic dye.SELECTED DRAWING: None
