PURPOSE: To simplify a constitution and to increase the speed and efficiency of an image formation by permitting an optical conductive layer to be irradiated with image light composed of specific three types of wavelengths through a transfer body while applying a direct voltage between a transfer body and toner, and simultaneously attracting three types of toner to the transfer body according to the bright part of the image light.
CONSTITUTION: Three LED arrays 21 - 23 which emit the rays of light having the wavelength of a specific wavelength area corresponding to the three primary colors of magenta, cyanogen, and yellow from the back surface of the transfer body 4 provided with a transparent electrode 2 and a transparent insulating layer 3 on a transparent substrate 1 are exposed on the transfer body with a selfoc lens 24 in response to a color image signal. On the other hand, a developing unit 17 comes in contact with an exposing part through the use of a magnetic brush 13. In three types of optical conductive toner 9 composed of three types of dyes having the optical conductive layer which is sensitized corresponding to the magenta, cyan, and yellow of the three primary colors, only the optical conductive toner necessarily colored by the exposure is sensitized, attracted by the potential difference of the transfer body 4 and the toner 9, and a color image is obtained on the transfer body 4. The color image is transferred and developed on a recording medium 25, and a color image is obtained. Thus, the constitution is simplified, and an image formation is speeded-up and its efficiency is enhanced.
